Act now as secondary school application deadline looms

Applications must be submitted by midnight this Friday (31 October, 2025) – and while over 85% of families have already done so, many are yet to submit theirs.

To apply for a school place, parents should log on to School admissions and complete the short application process. Parents and guardians will be notified of their child’s allocated school place on 2 March, 2026.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Children, Young People and Education, said: “There are only a few days left until the deadline, so if your child is in their final year at primary or junior school, it’s vital you get your application in now, if you haven’t already.

“It might feel like secondary school is still a long way off, but time is running out. The process is quick and simple, and applying before the deadline will give you the best chance of securing a place at a preferred school.”

Applying online has a number of benefits – applications can be made through a secure website and viewed and edited online up to the closing date for applications of 31 October, 2025. Applicants will also be able to access their child’s school allocation online on 2 March, 2026, rather than having to wait for a letter in the post.

For help and advice about the admissions process, please visit School admissions or call the Admissions and Appeals Team on 01902 551122.

Anyone who needs help making their online application is invited to attend the final School Application Surgery being held at the Civic Centre, St Peter’s Square, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SH on Thursday (30 October) from 10am to 2pm.
