Further events take place for 10th annual Orange campaign

More events are taking place over the coming days as part of the 10th annual Orange Wolverhampton campaign.

Launched in 2015, Orange Wolverhampton aims to raise awareness of the continuing drive to end all domestic abuse, including physical abuse, coercive control, financial abuse, sexual violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriage, so called honour based abuse, and stalking and harassment.

Reinforcing the message that there is #NoExcuse for violence against women, girls, men and boys, local organisations have joined together to champion the support available across the city and raise awareness for the campaign.

The campaign began with a flag raising on Tuesday, and events over the next few days include a ribbon making session and tea and coffee afternoon at Whitmore Reans Library tomorrow (Friday 28 November) from 3pm to 4pm, a ‘Let’s Talk’ Orange Drop In session at Springvale Library on Saturday (29 November, 2025) from 11am to 1pm, and a Chai & Chat Drop In held by ROSHNI and Aspiring Futures at the Bob Jones Community Hub on Wednesday (3 December) from 11am to 2pm, with sessions in Punjabi, Hindi, Urdu and Arabic.

There will be an information stall in the Mander Centre on Tuesday 9 December from 10am to 3.30pm, with campaign partners coming together to raise awareness of Orange Wolverhampton, before this year’s campaign ends with an Orange Walk in the city centre with ROSHNI on Wednesday 10 December from 10am to 11.30am, followed by a flag lowering ceremony outside the Civic Centre at 11.45am led by the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, Councillor Obaida Ahmed.

She said: “Orange Wolverhampton is a powerful reminder that our city stands united against domestic abuse in all its forms.

“By raising awareness and offering support, we’re saying loud and clear that there is no excuse for violence. I urge everyone to get involved – attend an event, wear orange, start a conversation – and together we can create a safer, more compassionate city.”

Full details of all the events taking place during the campaign are now available on the Orange Wolverhampton website.
