Offering a comprehensive range of lessons tailored to all ages and abilities, the Bert Williams Swim School supports swimmers from as young as 3 months through its pre-school Discovery Ducks programme, right up to older children participating in Rookie Lifeguard sessions. It also offers dedicated sessions for children and young people with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND).
Lessons are designed to foster confidence and enjoyment in a supportive environment where every swimmer can thrive, following the nationally recognised Swim England Learn to Swim Framework which ensures a structured pathway for swimming development.
The swim school runs lessons at both WV Active Bilston Bert-Williams and WV Active Central, with spaces currently available at both sites.
Councillor Obaida Ahmed, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: “Swimming is not only a vital life skill, but also a wonderful way to support physical and mental wellbeing,
“Having over 1,000 current members is a real milestone and testament to the dedication of our instructors and staff, who ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow and feel safe in the water, and we look forward to welcoming even more children and young people into the school.”
