The carnival will take place on Saturday 4 July, 2026 and will feature a colourful parade through Bilston, celebrating local pride, creativity and community spirit – all with a 1960s groovy theme.
Participants can apply to take part in the parade in a number of ways. Vehicle floats of all shapes and sizes are welcome, from traditional floats and vintage cars to camper vans, milk floats and tractors. If it rolls, it’s welcome – subject to weight restrictions – and provided it embraces the carnival’s theme.
Those who prefer to take part on foot can also join the walking parade, dressing up in their best 1960s outfits and bringing the streets of Bilston to life.
To support participants, creative and practical workshops will be available to help develop ideas and prepare parade entries, ensuring everyone feels confident and supported to take part.
Josie Kelly, Chair of the Bilston Board, said: “Bilston Carnival is all about celebrating what makes the town special – the people, creativity and strong sense of community.
“The carnival parade will be a real highlight, and we would love to see as many local groups, families and organisations as possible get involved.
“Whether you’re decorating a float or dressing up and walking with friends, it’s a wonderful way to be part of a fantastic day for Bilston.”
Applications must be submitted by Friday 15 May.
Anyone interested in taking part in the parade can apply by emailing bilstoncarnival@wolverhampton.gov.uk.
