The City of Wolverhampton Council is currently consulting on a draft Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy and is encouraging people to have their say before it closes next month.

The consultation is giving people the opportunity to share their views on a draft strategy setting out how the council can work more effectively with the voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith sector to support local communities.

Councillor Obaida Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Community, said: “Wolverhampton has a proud and active voluntary and community sector that plays a vital role in supporting residents and strengthening our communities.

“The draft Voluntary and Community Sector Strategy will mark a step change in how the council will work with the sector. It reflects what we’ve heard through our engagement and sets out a clear commitment to building stronger relationships, improving how we work together, and treating the sector as an equal partner in shaping the future of our city.

“The consultation remains open and I would encourage anyone with an interest in Wolverhampton’s voluntary and community sector to take a few moments to share their views. Whether you’re involved in a local organisation, volunteer in your community or simply want to help shape the future of the city, we want to hear from you before the consultation closes on 10 August.”
